Re: Clicking OK doesn't work
Look at the status bar. Are you getting page errors? It sounds as though
the javascript is getting hung up somehow.
I suspect that this is because you're using an extension designed for DW MX
2004 in DW 8. Have you checked to see if there is an updated version?
I also don't understand why you need the extension to connect to Access. You
can create a data source in CF Administrator and point to the Access
database.

Re: Clicking OK doesn't work
I'm trying so hard to use coldfusion 8 and dreamweaver 8 to connect to Access
but no matter what I do i get errors. With Coldfusion 8 I log on and I go to
"data source" Set up what I need, then when I go to browse server for data
files I get a error that says IO error on server communication. My goal is to
build a online store. I want to use access to store my data inventory then make
temples with dreamweaver to show my inventory to visitors on my site when I get
it up. I am lost and don't know what to do. Everthing I try seems to run into
dead ends, please help!!!

Re: Clicking OK doesn't work
I try to follow the advice that Douglas Adams provided in his Hitchiker's
Guide to the Galaxy.
D O N ' T P A N I C ! ! !
Try this and restart your server...

Let me know if that fixes it. If not, we'll dig a little deeper.

Re: Clicking OK doesn't work
Finaly I have was able to connect to my Access Database with Coldfusion 8
Administrator. I reinstalled Coldfuision and enabled the RDS this time. The
link that you sent did help. Now, how do I get Dreamweaver 8 to retrieve the
database information and display it on a web page. I am a true noob at this
but I am truly learning alot. I am beginning to really like web designning.

Re: Clicking OK doesn't work
I don't have ColdFusion running right now as I'm working with ASP.NET
lately, and this is quite a lengthy subject. There are numerous
course/books/eweb sites on this subject if you're interested.
Generally, you go to the Application panel on the left and work through the
instructions to set up a site, document type, testing server, RDS login, and
data source.
Once you've done that, you can bind to the data, using the bindings tab to
create a recordset.
Have a look at the Help -> Getting Started with DreamWeaver section, under
Setup for Coldfusion heading. They walk you thrugh the entire process.
