Default Client supplied QX file - how do I turn off facing pages?

I didn't design this. Client supplied a 6 x 9 booklet in QX6 and I want to turn off facing pages so I can manually impose the book. The facing pages option is grayed out. I own Imposition which doesn't seem to work with QX which is pretty odd. Does it only work with ID?

    Is this a QXP question?

Quark 6. I get answers here much faster than the Q site. I ended up converting to ID, exporting to inx and reopening. Reragged badly on one page with runaround so I exported that one page to PDF and placed into ID.

I would leave the file as a qxp document, no conversion. Create a hires pdf of individual pages then place those in inDesign or any softweare you might have that impose pdfs

Even though you might give something to the client to approve, they will still wonder why something is not quite the way they set it.

By the way in order to turn off facing pages in quark, you need to first change all ur pages to individual pages from your Document pallete, (aka page palette).

Just an FYI: To clarify Marco's advice, you need replace the facing page masters in the document palette, by dragging a blank single onto them... of course if there is anything on them (the masters) you will have to take appropriate action. Once the facing page masters are gone, you can uncheck facing pages in layout properties.

John: Thanks. That's what I was looking for. It was only 16 pages and I wanted to hand impose.

Marco: Didn't want to take the chance of text changing so for press I exported the QX doc to PDF and placed into ID. Deleted all the ID files I have converted to so I wouldn't screw up.

you could impose the quark document using this xtension. I had pretty good luck with it. The demo will work for 10 days and the software is not to expensive $69.00.

File => Document Setup. Uncheck the Facing Pages option.
