Default clipping paths in Photoshop 8.0

Is there an export of some kind in Photoshop8, that will take a shadow (working path) and merge a clipping path with it?
(maybe someone knows about a transparency filter) that
    can do this?

No Quark does not support transparency.

do yourself a favor get rid of Quark and start using InDesign.

You don't even need clipping paths with InDesign just bring the .psd with trasparent background directly into ID. You can even add dropshadows to objects with ID.
