Default cna't view flash contnet no matter what I try

I have been trying for a week - It seems to install OK as Flash shows up on my
programs list, but I can't view any flash content - I just get the little
square/triangle/cirlce color symbol. I have installed, uninstalled,
reinstalled, checked the security level, gone thru all the faqs...there just
must be one thing that I'm not following the instructions correctly.
I emailed for customer support 3 days ago and they never answered me!
I have windows xp home sp2, IE 7.0.xxxx
    Please help!

Darren is awesome! If you have the problem I did, the microsoft tool will fix it for XP ----- but you have to make sure you add in Everyone for Full Permissions.

I would like to piggback on this thread with the exact problem. I've looked at
everything and have done everything. I have NEVER been able to see Flash
Macromedia on my computer. XP Home about 3 years old. Everything else has
always worked but Macromedia has never worked. I have Microsoft Media Center
on my computer if that makes any difference. I use Firefox as my browser and
from what I've seen, it does not look like I have a problem with "Windows
System Registry". All I get is a big Q in the middle of the page with a
question mark. I've installed and uninstalled etc. , nothing makes it work.
    This is seriously frustrating.
