If you are the contribute admin, or grant the right to edit html source to
the user group, you can open the file in an external editor of your choice
to paste in html source.

That's both good and bad. Unless you have a bullet-proof CSS, pressing enter
creates paragraph tags, which can change the intended appearance. A little more
flexibility / forgivness would be nice.
I know... my CSS should be bullet-proof, but how many of us think of
everything?
Maybe an option... New Paragraph... New Line?
Actually, what happened in my case was, I added some text, first thinking to
put it below the current line, then changed my mind and deleted the carriage
return, but Contribute left the closing paragraph tag </p> which had the result
of changing the style.
