cold fusion server not running

installed cold fusion developers edition windows xp pro. At the end of
installation, error message "not installed properly"

Windows could not start the ColdFusion MX Application Server on local
computer. For more information, review the system Event Log. If this is a
non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to
service-specific error cod 2.

There could be many reasons for your problem but you are most likely the only
one able to tell us the problem. Check your Event View for errors. I am not
sure if the developers version goes on IIS or standalone but either way
depending on the type of instalation you might need to have IIS previously
installed and the running.
