Cold fusion server on windows 2003 server
Hey everyone. I had to reinstall my cf server becasue it was being weird about
my database. So I unistalled, and then it would not reinstall! After trying and
trying, and repairing windows, cleaning the registry and stuff, i finally got
it to install. Now it won't connect to my database and I don't know why. It
keeps saying the javascript connection times out or soemthing. Also for some
reason my DCOM service won't start, I don't know if that has something to do
with it or not. So to summarize.
1) cold fusion wouldn't let go of database
2) I uninstall CF
3) try to install several times, no good.
4) Do some work on windows, repair it, unistall other stuff.
5) Login to windows, get error about DCOM service, and event lookup service
not working
6) I disable DCOM
7) Reinstall CF
8) Try to map database, it keeps timing out
So I guess im wondering if i need to set up any special permissions on the
server, or if i need to try and fix DCOM (i have no idea what it does) or what
the deal is. Any help is welcome, I really don't want to have to format the
server.
