Color change when non-Illustrator doc is "parsed" in Illustrator CS
The customer's non-Illustrator eps document was opened in Illustrator CS. The color of an embedded image of a wooden bucket was changed from brownish to purple-ish. It went unnoticed and was subsequently printed. I have OSX 10.3.3. on a fully loaded G5. The same document opened with no problems in Illustrator 10.

Re: Color change when non-Illustrator doc is "parsed" in Illustrator CS
Talk about a lousy workflow! There are NO guarantees when Illustrator parses any random EPS or PostScript file that every element will remain the same. Adobe has never claimed that Illustrator is able to do this.
I sometimes use Illustrator to open a stray EPS or PDF file, but I'm never assume that everything is the same. It's only a last minute workaround for a real workflow.
