    Hmm. That's strange. Normally it only happens when you're holding
    down the Alt key.

    Make the Color Pallet visible. You have background selected. Click on foreground, then any colors you pick will change the foreground.

    I remember when I had the same problem!

    Once again, an indication in the tool palette would make sense!

    Thanks Man, I had the same problem and after hours of looking in the Preferences just could not change it.
    Can't believe I did not look in the color Pallet before, must have changed it by accident before.
