Color corruption when printing - Macromedia Freehand

I have imported a png file from Fireworks and want to create a PDF file. The file imports well, but the pdf corrupts the colors. The settings appear to be right - it is imported as rgb and saved for screen settings. But somewhere it appears that the colors convert to cmyk (?), for the final pdf colors are not correct. If this is a Freehand question and anyone knows the solution, .... Thanks Tony...

Are you exporting to PDF from FHMX? What are your PDF export options
    settings?

What are your color management settings?

Are you using any FH features that convert colors to CMYK such as lens fills
    or blends?

If you are using FHMX RGB raster effects, go to File>Doent
settings>Raster Effects settings and uncheck 'Optimal CMYK rendering'. In
Output options, uncheck 'Convert RGB to process'.

Let's face it, FHMX has way too many places to set color mode options.
Getting the right color output is sort of like playing a video game where
you have to collect a token from all the hidden settings before you can
    proceed to the prize.
