Color/Gradiet Application Question

Hi. Is there a way to apply a color scheme/gradient to a layered image? I want my new layers to have the same color scheme/gradient as my backround. How can I do that? Thanks in advance.

Not sure I understand the question, could be just a terminology thing. But if I understand it, the best way to visualize this is to try the following.

Create a new image with a transparent background. On the layers pallet there's a half white/half black button to add an Adjustment Layer. Click that and a flyout menu appears. Choose Gradient.

Now, you can select from presets using the obvious dropdown - BUT, what a lot of people miss is that you can customize the gradient by click on the actual picture of the gradient without clicking the dropdown.

So basically, when you see that representation of the gradient in the dialog, just click the picture. You can customize it six ways from Sunday.

The nice thing about using an adjustment layer is that if you want to tweak it, you just double click on the layer and you can change it as many times as you like.

Thanks. Let me try and clear up what I am trying to say. I created a backround pattern. I am now going to layer images on the backround pattern, but I want the image to have te same pattern and colors as the backround pattern I created. How can I do that? I hope that this clarifies what I am trying to say.

You probably want to put the pattern on a layer above the image. Then reduce opacity and/or try other blend modes. If that isn't what you're after, do come back.
