Color match for off-line printer; Apple
There was a very good post by Peter Gaunt on Dec 16, 2002, explaining how to convert color from one profile to another using Applescripts (Match to chosen profile). My question concerns matching to a printer profile for a printer not connected to my computer, such as one at a Target. Drycreekphoto has profiles for all sorts of locations, but I read that after converting the color to that profile, you still need to “soft proof” or somehow make some minor adjustments based on that new profile. I believe that PSE 2 does not have a “soft” proof feature. Is there a way to do this soft proof in PSE 2? Is one way the following: use the applescript to “match to chosen profile” of the printer at Target, and then open the file in PSE 2 using no color management? Thanks.
