Colorized overlay - Macromedia Fireworks

Is there a way to create a colorized overlay over an image that is in fireworks? For example, can I create a rectangle over an image and use it to change the color of an image to a bluish color. I want to change the color of a few graphics that are in one page. I have seen this done in Photoshop but just wanted to know if I could do this in Fireworks. I hope I explianed this ok. I can also provide an example image if needed....

There are many ways to do what you want, depending on the specific type of
results you need. You could create a rectangle over it and change the
opacity of the rect. You could apply live effects or filter to your image,
such as Adjust Color > Hue/Saturation and check the colorize box. If you
need fancier results, there are always brush techniques, etc. If you want
to go monochrone, I would do the Colorize option.

Oops, sorry, I probably was not clear enough. In more detail: create an
object above the graphics you'd like to change. Let's say the rectangle.
Fill it with blue (in your case). Then play with apply modes and
    transparency.
