    Default colors are black

    Hello everybody.
I am working in freehand 9 and everything was great yesterday, but today my
colors are all black. Spot colors are named and the mixer tells me that I'm
changing the cmyk values, etc. but the only thing I see is black .
    Anybody know anything about this?

What is your platform and OS?

What is your color management setup? Does this happen if you have color
    management set to 'None'?

    Thanks for the reply Judy.
I am running a mac on OS 10.1.1. I got as far as setting the color management
to none and that helped, but when I quit out of freehand or even just the
document, I have to reset that preference when I open it again. In other words,
I'm not sure how to save that preference. I tried to reset my default settings
to start from scratch, but there is an error message that flashes so quick I
can't read it before the preference window closes completely.
Very frustrating. I don't want to think that working in illustrator is the
    answer, ya know...?

I'm confused. FH9 doesn't run under OS X, only in Classic. Is that what
    you're doing?

Normally, when you quit FH, the preferences are saved. If you Prefs are not
being saved, I suspect you have a corrupted Preferences file. You should
quit FH, trash your Prefs file, relaunch and see if that helps. Prefs will
be reset back to default, so you'll have to reset them.

There was a bug in early versions of FHMX where an ICC profile would crash
the application. You could do a Finder search to see if you have a file
called 'Black and White.icc'. Quit all graphics apps that use ICC profiles.
Move the ICC file mentioned above on to the desktop. Relaunch FH. You might
have to log out or restart the machine depending on the location of the
profile and the OS in which you're running FH.
