    Default Colour Values change

Does anyone know why the colour values would change when rasterising an Acrobat PDF in Photoshop. A red colour is changing from 100y and 100m to 100y and 89m. Any feedback gratefully received.

The PDF had to be rasterized because the client producing the publication did not have PDF import for Quark, and it was the only way that they could place the 1/4 page advertisement into the document. I would have expected the colour to remain unchanged. Maybe the answer would have been to save as an eps from Acrobat and place it.

I know you can place Acrobat eps, im asking on behalf of a 3rd party. It would still be nice to know why Photoshop changes colour values.

It may be that the CMYK data in the PDF file has an ICC profile
    attached.

A sidenote - Quark 4 can import PDF - but only with the PDF-Filter
(version 1.6 recommended) and downloaded from Quark.com ...

However, this can only import PDF which as PDF 1.3 ...

Also - do NOT trust Quark when importing PDFs .... yep .. try and go the
EPS route with PS1 and ASCII format

    Jon

PS - Preflight will isolate 90% of all issues ...
