Colours don't change!
I get this problem often: I select an object in Illustrator, change the colours and... nothing happens! The readout is the right colour but the object remains the same. Using eyedropper doesn't help. What gives?

Re: Colours don't change!
Someone at Adobe should overhaul the Illustrator forum's FAQ - it's still Illustrator 10-centric - and include a complete explanation ofthis topic.
Color is applied differently to objects, groups and layers, and you can control it by examining the Appearance palette. For insatnce, you'll find that your selection has two fills - one for the object, and another for the group or layer it's part of. You can correct your problem by adjusting the order of the information (fill, stroke, contents, etc.) in the Appearance palette by dragging them below or above one another.

Marc-Francois:
Search this forum on "Pettit Appearance group color" and you should find a lot of explanations of this topic.
(Unfortunately I do not have write access to the FAQ.)
