Column Numbering
I have created a document with two columns per page. I am an trying to have a different page number for every column and have tried to insert auto page number and next page number, this only numbers the page (for example I the same number for each column on the same page. I would like to get a different number for each column.
Any suggestions?

Manually? The auto page number will not cooperate for this purpose.
Maybe you could use autopagenumber if you define the page to be half the width. Use facing pages. Print 2-up spreads. That way autopagenumber could pretend to number the columns.

What if it doesn't have to be a number? How about a and b? You could use
autopagenumber and suffix the different columns with a different digit.
