comcast - Mac Applications & Software

Greetings, Comcast cable is my ISP. I ran their conversion tool in June to convert over from AT&T Broadband. Their conversion tool changed my default startup page in all my browsers to www.comcast.net. I thought, no big deal, I'll just change it back but, everytime a start a browser it goes back to www.comcast.net. Anyone know where the malicious script is that keeps sabatoging my web browsers? thanks in advance. -- John J. Rushford j j r { a t } a l i s a { d o t } o r g http://www.cs.du.edu/~jjr...

    Default comcast

    Greetings,

over from AT&T Broadband. Their conversion tool changed my default startup
page in all my browsers to www.comcast.net. I thought, no big deal, I'll

    thanks in advance.

There is no such script. It's just that Internet Config (where this is
stored) is somewhat, um, buggy on X, and keeps forgetting things if you
run two programs that use it at the same time.

    Try this:

    1) Log out and back in, holding down the Shift key so no login items run
    2) Open the Internet preference panel and set the home page as you like
    3) Log out and back in again

Try deleting ~/Preferences/com.apple.internetconfig.plist if the above
doesn't make it stick. You will have to reset many of your Internet
    prefs.
