Message boards are not done with client side code. They use server
scripting. You need to know and tell what server models are supported by
your host for this site before anyone can recommend a particular script.

If you are looking to put together web based forums. Check out vbulletin's

forums based on their product. If you are in the mood to do some coding,
designing, programming, and maybe a challenge then check these **free**
Linux based webportals with forum/community support:
- Geeklog ([url]www.geeklog.net[/url])
- PHP-Nuke ([url]http://phpnuke.org[/url])

There are others out there both free and for a fee. I can't remember off
hand who is vbulletin's closes competitor.
