    Default Commands question

Can I control the position of an object via Javascript within a command?

Say I'm doing a batch and I have some pics taken in portrait and others in
landscape orientation. I want to put my copyright in the lower RH corner.

Any got a snippet to spare? I'll gladly pay you Tuesday. :)

Without hacking the commands, which I would hesitate to do, I'm not sure.
The only thing I can think of is to flip all of the pictures upside down,
and then take one picture, apply the copyright to the (now) top-right
portion and record your actions so that you can re-apply it to the other
pictures. The reason behind flipping the pictures is so the placement can
always be the same pixel-wise, if you catch my drift. Of course, it's
extremely late here, so I could be dreaming... Worth a shot.

    Bill--

If all the images are the same size you can do a File > Import of a
pre-made watermark image and then position it by changing its X and Y
values in the Properties inspector. (Don't drag it into place).

That will give you steps that can be copied from the History panel
(Import, Move, Move) which can be saved as a custom command.

Without more advanced JS you can't control the positioning of watermarks
via the history panel when you have images of unequal sizes, but if
they're the same then that method will work.

    Hi Kim, Bill et all,

You beat me to it Kim. I've just been playing around with this.

I had no problem with importing a pre-made © image into the
top left hand corner of mixed selection of images portrait and
landscape. Wouldn't this work all the time so long as it worked from top
    left?

    Things I learned:
If your using only text for your © image save it as a fireworks png.
If you export as a gif the edges will be horrible.

In the command I made I optimised the image before importing the © image.
I can see no reason why you couldn't add a resize step as well.

Bill, I have the files I used fore this and the command all zipped up. If
    you'd like
them, just let me know and I'll send them across. 2.6mb.

    Cheers

    Peter R.

Just remember that this was just me doodling. Nothing has been thoroughly
    tested.
The images are just a few that I had lying around, and although I've put
    your
name on them, I acknowledge that you are in no way responsible for them. :)

    Hope it helps

    One more thing.

I put the outline around the © Billy Ray png so it would work regardless of
    background colour.

    Thanks man!!

FWIW- I've found that if you save the copyright set at a blend mode of
"screen" it's less obtrusive and blends nicely into the photo without being
    overbearing. :)

Ps- if you're interested here's some links to some photos I've taken here in

I confess to know very little about that part of FWs. I'm not sure how you
would incorporate that in the command.

You could always reduce the opacity of the © image down to ...say 50%, that
    should blend it in better.

I checked out your links earlier and well I think you did a good job. I have
never really tried taking pictures in that kind of environment because I
know just how hard it is. I think that's were digi really shows more
    conventional cameras up.
