Composite Image(thumbnail) is not saved.
PS 6.01
All layered PSD files do not show up in Thumbs Plus nor in Fotostation because no Composite image is saved.
Doing a Save As shows Thumbnail marked.
PS preferences are set to "Ask when Saving" under Image Previews. (Yes PS was Restarted after setting Preferences)
In Win Explorer by Right clicking on a Layered PSD file and on Properties shows Read only Unmarked. By clicking on Photoshop Image "Thumbnail" is selected and by clicking OK does not save Composite Image neither.
What is wrong?

Which just means that you turned off the maximize compatibility switch in preferences.
Composite image is not the same thing as a thumbnail.

Re: Composite Image(thumbnail) is not saved.
Right! Checked it on a few files.
Thank you very much.
Actions and Batch to the rescue for a few hundred files.
BTW could I send you a CD to show you folks there how PS can be used as a Special Events Program or Elements could be converted to such a program?
Special Events Programs are selling from $1.500 to $3.000 but PS does much better if one knows it.
