    hello people i install coldfusion in mi pc
    windows xp serv pack 2
    when i go to administration page he ask me for a login password?
    why i get this? i have install it already in other pc and never ask me for
    that

    When you install ColdFusion, you are asked you to pick an "Administrator" password (for security). Enter the password that you picked during the CF installation process.

    yes off course the problem is that coldfusion not only ask for a password
    he ask me for a login name look at this screen shot

    I've never seen that before. What type of options are listed in the "user name" list?

    i have the same problem
    I am trying to install CFServer (single user license) on an XP machine. When I
    try to go into the Coldfusion Administrator, a window pops up, saying
    "Connecting to 127.0.0.1" then asks for User Name and Password for

    i go to control panel/administrative tools/ Internet information
    services/Server/Web Sites /Properties/Directory Security/Edit I had Anonymous
    Access turned off. an it doesnt work please hekp me

    Well both links are a little old (and the instructions for W2k not XP) so I
    don't know that they could be applied to XP exactly as is. My point is only
    that it sounds like you're getting some sort of authentication
    challenge/response prompt, so that might be an avenue you should pursue. Maybe
    someone more familar with XP can be of help.

    1) Is the account you are using an Administrator Account?
    2) Did you restart after any changes?
    3) Which webserver and MX version are you using?
