I tried to set up the JDBC connection as you suggested below, but get "
[java.sql.SQLException: coldfusion.sql.DatabaseConnectionException: Timed out
trying to establish connection
The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException:
coldfusion.sql.DatabaseConnectionException: Timed out trying to establish
connection" error.
I also referenced a link in this site:

I confirm that all the server name, ip and port number, and password are
correct. Any further suggests?
I am using CFMX6.1 with Windows2000, and am struggling with the ODBC server
hang problem (once a week). Currently we are using the ODBC connection to
Informix database set on a Sun box.
