Contour Lines?

ok lets say i have a image that has straight and round edges.. and i need to make a border around it thats a line.. whats the easiest way to do it?

Or, if the image is a rectangle, you may use the rounded rectangle tool, direct select each rounded corner to become sharp, delete it, click the pen tool on one of the endpoints, click at the new corner, and close the path; you may use Transform palette to adjust.
