Contribbute 'hangs' Frequently

I am currently testing the system ready for implimentation. I have it runnign
on 2 machines, on one aloingside dreamweaver. I am finding thet the copy of
contribute on the faster of the 2 machines suffers from some monumental loading
times when creating a draft page or (as it is doing now) when updating the
..dwt templates on startup.

Does anyone know how to get around these instabilities?

First we need to know more about what may be causing them.

Tell us about the system's OS/Version/RAM/MHz, and Also what version of
Contribute your running. And then too, if you can show us the HTML code or a
URL of the web site in question that may help too.

The machine that the 'hangs' are occuring on is 3.4 ghz P4, 1gb ram, XP
PRO SP 2

As for the pages, there on the companies internal system at the moment as we
are still testing to see if we want to go company wide with it.

Suffice to say thet the pages the loading proccess delays on are nomral
..css style sheets and template files. It should also be noted that it does
not happen eveytime a new stylesheept or template goes in but when it does
happen it will remain slow everytime it opens until it has completed the
load up of those pages

Huh??? Without being able to see some code I can't be of much help to you. But
I assume your using Contribute 3, which should work fine under that OS with
those specs.

The pages which load slow have something inside their HTML or CSS code which
is different than the rest, some complex scripting perhaps? Whatever the case
may be, finding out what it is, seems to be what you need to do.
