Contribue & Snippets

We have a dreamweaver template, with a lot of snippets which are used globally
across all departments using that template.

We want to start using Contribute so users can edit pages that way, but when I
try to add snippets as library assets, the .csn files aren't recognised.

Can this actually be done? If so, how?

I think you have to actually create a library element... .lbi and then put it there. Just create new libary item, insert snippet, save as snippetname.lbi then put to site for sharing.
