The web is platform independent, so that would work well.

As long as you are using a platform independent connection method (like FTP,
SFTP, etc.) you should be fine. We've used Contribute on Mac and PC on the same
site with users connecting via FTP with no trouble.

So lemme get this straight, if a user connects to a site using FTP via Contribute, what about user/admin roles? They are not applicable?

You always connect via FTP. Or, rather, you connect via http and then when
you edit and publish you connect via ftp (I assume). The user roles are
    applicable.

IF a user makes their own connection in Contribute using FTP info, AND their
is no current site "admin", they are asked if they want to be the admin.

If there is already an admin, I'm not sure what happens if they manually
make an ftp connection. I do know they won't be able to be the admin without
    knowing the admin password.

If they connect using a "connection key" given them by the admin, they don't
need the ftp info, and are in the group specified when the admin made the
    key.

I'm using a Mac. Nice new OS X.

Everyone else is using M$ OSs... Works great.

You've got to love cross-platform compatibility.
