Contribute 1 Cannot verify Connection Information
We have a registered copy of Macromedia Contribute 1 (Unsupported I know) which
is used by one person here and installed on their desktop. This person is now
going to start using a laptop so we just want to have exactly the same setup
for this on their laptop. I have installed Macromedia Contribute on the laptop
We wanted to keep Macromedia on the desktop PC unopened just in case it didn?t
install correctly with all our website settings on the laptop but we will
uninstall this if we can get it working. I don?t know if this is what is
causing the problem I am about to describe!!
I started setting up our first website of 4 within Macromedia and everything
was fine up until the point where it asked for the path to the files and this
message appeared
Contribute cannot verify your connection Information. Access Denied. The file
may not exist or there could be a permission problem. Please contact your
administrator for assistance.
We know all the settings we are putting in are correct as we screenprinted
them from the desktop etc etc. There is no option to transfer the license via
the help tab etc
I dont know whether we need to cancel the security somewhere within the S/W so
we can then install and reauthorise it on the laptop???
Any help greatly appreciated :-)

Re: Contribute 1 Cannot verify Connection Information
if your connection settings are FTP or SFTP, try switching between the
two. mine is supposedly SFTP but contribute can't verify unless i set
it to be regular FTP. also, unless your setup included sending machine
specifics, you won't need to do anything to disable one license before
installing the other.
