Contribute 2.1 & 3.1 hang when recalling draft
We currently have 10 workstations (HP & Dell laptops and desktops) Windows
2000, that have Contribute 2.1 installed.
On 6 of these workstations Contribute hangs indefintley when we try to edit a
draft.
Exact Steps:
Launch Contribute | edit page | Save as Draft | Close Contribute - Reopen
Contribute immediatly or even the next day and try to select the draft
- Contribute no longer responds - however if I change the network adapter
advanced settings or unplug/replug the network cable. Contribute "wakes up "
I have searched this forum and have tried the disabling of the proxy server,
no firewall in use.
I then installed Version 3 thinking it would help, problem continues.
We are rolling this application out to 4 other sites this quarter. -- I REALLY
NEED some help PLEASE !

Re: Contribute 2.1 & 3.1 hang when recalling draft
Hmm, so Contribute hangs when it tries to re-open the draft copy.
As I recall, the program stores a draft copy of the page on the users local
drive. (not sure -where- exactly Contribute places it though) If something
happened to that draft copy after it's been created, it may have gotten
corrupted, because Contribute thinks it is still the same, or still exists,
period.
I'm not sure what sort of settings you tweaked with, but it sounds like it's
somehow affecting Contribute's rights to create and access the draft file.
If that file has been moved, edited, or tampered with, outside of Contribute's
"area of operation" then that would explain why it doesn't know what to do when
you try to re-open the file.
