Contribute 3.1 issues anyone?
I'm planning on upgrading my users to use 3.1, but I don't want to regret it,
just because 1 or 2 of the new features seem nice to have. So I want to know if
any of you have had any negative issues result from the upgrade? I'm
specifically talking about major problems, like crashing, or freezing, security
breach, etc. This doesn't include stuff like "it runs a little slower".
Also, if I wish to use multiple connections for the same user, does the user
also need to have C3.1 installed or does only the admin need it? (Do I need to
re-issue that user an all-new connection key? Or does her current key get
modified through the admin interface?)
*personal gripe --- pay attention macromedia*
I also wish there was a way to disable the new "Publish/Send files from my
computer" menu item as well. Our site was fully designed before I came on
board, and they decided that all non-HTML files go into a /docs/ folder instead
of /documents/ ... so in other words, the Contribute users can't upload
non-HTML files by themselves. They need to get our permission, and then we
upload them, because Contribute only creates a /documents/ folder by default.
And there is no option to change what the name of this folder will be!

I'll try to put this one at the top of the list again ...
I am thinking of making the upgrade also. Have browsed thru the forum and
don't seem to find any major problems. Anybody out there having problems with
3.1?

Re: Contribute 3.1 issues anyone?
Installed okay and cant really see the plus side of a lot the fixes.
I need to create a new file to lock down the dropdown menus again... oh well.
There was a fix I was hoping they would do, which is to allow CT3 to edit the
page title on a page with a template applied. CT2 can, so why not 3, keeps on
about the properties of the page being locked.
IMHO since Macromedia allowed CT3 to open an external app to edit the code
Macromedia's reply now appears to be just that.. "use an external
application"......kind of defeats the object of having Contribute.
BTW does anyone actually have the CPS program? seams like a lot of money for
so little.
