Contribute 3 corrupts filenames

After several years mixing and matching DreamWeaver and FrontPage, I am keen to
get all my authors off of FrontPage (which we get FOC) - I can't afford to give
them all DreamWeaver, so Contribute 3 looks a good solution, except ...

While DreamWeaver quite happily creates and manages long filenames, Contribute
3 rejects them all - even though they contain legitimate characters (e.g.
'space', underscore, hyphen, etc.). I have even seen it remove such characters
from existing documents when published!! :Q

We have a Knowledge database which uses our Intranet content which means
filenames cannot change, so how can I get Contribute 3 to create/accept long
filenames? Or will my otherwise successful evaluation fail, and Macromedia
lose out on the deal?

Hi, This issue is not common case when publishing, especially if there are no
specialy characters. What happens if you turn off rollbacks? Also, see this

Can you physically see the changed file name from Contribute? I am having a terrible time with some images that just will not diplay in edit mode.
