Contribute 4 - Does the blog feature actually work?
Just wondering if anyone has any success with the blogging feature of
Contribute 4 with hosted Movable type?
I am playing around with the trial version and my blogs which are hosted
Movable type, but when I try to create the blog connection, I get an bad
username/password error using this as my access point -
http://YOURSITE/PATH/TO/mt-xmlrpc.cgi per the documentation.
I noticed that if I hit that url in the browser, I get a 405 error... not sure
if maybe my blog permissions are wrong?

Re: Contribute 4 - Does the blog feature actually work?
You need to have access permissions to write to the directory where
posts are residing on your movable type because the posts get published
actually.
Not sure, but this is some kind of error message that is generated from
MT and contribute just addresses it.
One important thing is:
Always ensure that you are using API Password and not the password
that you actually use to login to your movable type login page.
If you dont know what is an api password please follow this:
1. Login to your movable type browser url http://server/path/mt.cgi
2. Click on the user name hyperlink at the top right cornor.
3. This should open up User profile page
4. Scroll down. You will see API PASSWORD: Text box.
5. Fill the API Password and save the page.
6. Use this password when connecting to your movable type server.
Please dont use the Login password that you have used when logged in via
browser.
Hope this helps
Thanks
Arun
