Default Contribute adding .new to files

One of my clients is finding that each time she publishes Contribute adds
..new to the files i.e. original.htm becomes original.htm.new
From another forum, I gather that this is caused by her internet connection
being cut off. How can one reset this, please? Thanks in advance.

Default Re: Contribute adding .new to files

I have since contacted my client again - and to clarify, it seems that she
had to have all her files transferred to her replacement computer. The error
in "publish"ing dates back to that time.

Can anyone tell me if there is a setting that needs to be reset in order
that Contribute will recognise her with the new computer, or is it a case of
    reinstalling from the disk?

    Many thanks in advance.

Default Re: Contribute adding .new to files

During my search for answers I found a comment that Contribute can put files
into the baks folder then it creates and publishes a "new" file. Setting
rollbacks to false should prevent this.

However, when I look at the contribute.xml file I see the following:
    group_allow_delete_rollbacks value="false"/

I presume that this means the rollbacks are already set to false? Anyone got
any suggestions, please? I would be extremely grateful for help.
