Contribute asking for guard page while it displays it...

Using Contribute 3.0, four months ago installed on both my and my
client's computers, everything worked fine. Then we changed web hosts.
I went in to edit the FTP info and was told I needed to check with the
'admin'... uh, me.

Couldn't get around this issue, so deleted the Contribute program,
reinstalled, and attempted to set up the client's site. Everything fine
until I try to Administer it.

Contribute has the client's site open, with the index.html page
displayed, and tells me that it cannot find a 'guard page', giving
examples of index.html, index.htm, etc. Well, it is displaying the
'guard page', but can't find it? I have even tried renaming the
index.html page 'doink.html' and trying to add that as my 'guard page'.
It just keeps coming back to the "Type in the name of guard page", with
a blinking cursor.

Everything worked flawlessly prior to the web host change. I don't
think that is the issue. It was suggested to me that I delete all of
the Contribute code on the client's web pages, but in my UltraDev code
view, I don't see it.

Frustrated and trying to find another CMS if this doesn't work.
Oh, and I was even emailing back and forth with Tom Negrino, author of
the Visual Quickstart Contribute 3 book, and he couldn't help, and had
never seen this issue come up.

Is there anyone from Macromedia or someone else who has had experience
with this? I posted it weeks ago, and have had no responses. Please
help! The client is waiting...
