Contribute cannot save your changes to the website'sshared settings
I am trying to go back to re-administer a website that I have not used
Contribute on in a long time. When I try to Administer the site (mac v 3.11),
I choose Dreamweaver or Word style editing (does the same with both choices)
and it comes back with an error "Contribute cannot save your changes to the
website's shared settings."
I think this is where I screwed things up -- some time over the last year, I
removed as much as I could of Contribute's files from the server and turned
contribute off on my copy of DW. No other Administers have used this site. I
have turned it back on on DW -- everything works fine, except when I try to
administer
What can I do?

Re: Contribute cannot save your changes to the website'sshared settings
Try turning off the Dreamweaver administration, removing the _mm folder from the web server (keeping a backup copy), and then creating a connection and administering the site from within Contribute.

What do you mean by "turning off the Dreamweaver administration"?
Is this really the best way to solve the problem? Re-creating the site from
scratch (in terms of users and possibly roles) is not something I'd like to
do...
