Contribute crash when trying to publish

When I (the administrator) try to publish a page edited by a writer, I keep
getting the following message:
While executing DW_Inbox_Publish command in cctoolbars.xml, the following
JavaScript error(s) occurred:
Exception thrown in native funtion.

I don't get this message when I publish a page that I edited myself in
Contribute.
Can anyone help me?

Hi Vdobbin,

Can you provide info on

1) CT version used
2) Connection type
3) Web server/OS info

Will try to reproduce and get an answer.

I am not the original poster but we are having the exact same problem. We are using Windows XP, DWMX2004, and Contribute 3.1.

pretty much the same problem. Get the feeling my ISP aint to happy either. They
are complaining im hitting their server too much and CT 3.11 either crashes
when i try to publish , or i get a varying message saying my server is not
available or not accepting new connectons ( as if i have reached my limit with
them ).

Is the writer editing the page in CT or DW(MX2004)? , I am guessing the work
flow

+ Writer edits the page
+ Sends for review to admin
+ Admin publishes the page

Let me know if I am right

You are correct and the writer is editing the page in CT.

Hi vdobbin,

Did you try adding your own jscript code to the cctoolar.xml file ? . If yes
you might have somehow corrupted the file doing the same .

If this is not the case, reinstalling Contribute should solve your problem.

This is just an idea...

You might activate the logging option on your system to log what Contribute is
doing at the time.
