Default contribute crashes and renames files with .new

    Can anyone help?

I have a client using Contribute and recently it has started to throw error
messages when he is hitting the Publish button.

First off it says 'Contribute has encountered an internal data error....'.
Then if you go back to try and edit the file again it says 'Access denied as
the file may not exist'. When I ftp to the site the file has been renamed with
..new added to it - so for example index.html becomes index.html.new and
therefore fails to show in the browser either.

He does have connections to 3 websites using Contribute and this seems to be
having the same problems with each site. He is using Contribute 2.

    Thanks for any help.

    Liz

Default Re: contribute crashes and renames files with .new

I also have a client who is finding .new is added to her files when she
publishes. In her case, it started when all her files were transferred over
to her new computer. Is there a setting to reset this, or should we
reinstall Contribute from the disk? She is also using Contribute 2. Many
    thanks in advance.
