    Default Contribute is expensive

    Hi,

Contribute is expensive! Rush on this forum to tell your opinion.

    Reasons to lower the price:

[bullet]Contribute is mean to be used in team and suppose several
    licences.[/bullet]
[bullet]FREE CMS are raising and despite you can't use WYSWYG, they provide
    more possibilities.[/bullet]
[bullet]No real improvement in the latest version has been made.[/bullet]
[bullet]You have to buy a new version almost every year.[/bullet
[bullet]Reducing the price will help to generalize it.[/bullet]
    [bullet]Web development cost already a lot.[/bullet]
[bullet]Hey, it's just a tool to update a website that has been made using
DreamWeaver that already cost a lot![/bullet]

    Share your opinion.

I agree. I think 50% of would be a better price for a single license.

It's a great product and easy to work with, but it's really expensive, since
you have to pay per license. When you get a 'six-pack' the discount also is
    quite minimal.

The price is the only reason that I am not totally into Contribute and
    still trying alternatives.

There are forum postings for non-profit discounts so if you are working for a
non profit you are in luck.

    Default Re: Contribute is expensive

I've written to Adobe asking them to explain why Contribute costs $149 in the
US store but £123 in the UK - almost twice as much! So far they have ignored my
question, but I'll keep going until I get an answer.

I also need to know if Contribute CS3 is backwards compatible?

I am running DW8 and need to deploy Contribute at a client's site but I cannot
buy previous versions of Contribute. I'm hoping the latest version is
compatible otherwise I will seriously have to look at alternatives to DW
because I simply cannot afford to keep upgrading every 12-18 months.

Has anyone else got experience of this?

Any help would be gratefully received.

I've asked this same question - can I design on DW8 and publish to the latest
    Contribute? No answers yet.

And what's this about needing to update Contribute every year? True? Why?
Maybe this isn't the route I want to go for my client.
