Re: Contribute renaming files on its own
Hi there, Has this been addressed as yet? I have a client who is simply
updating a pdf document on his site. He does this, by going to the page,
highlighting the text for the document, and going through the motions of
finding the file on his computer. He is also making sure to keep the same file
name, as this file is linked on the site from two places on the navigation
(their request, not my suggestion). I know this worked correctly in the
beginning as I already had this file out there and working, and used Contribute
to update the file when I was creating their Contribute User Guide. He called
me this morning and told me that the new file was only available from the link
he highlighted. When I checked, the link he highlighted and changed had _000
on the end of the file name, just before the extension. Please let me know
what I can do to help you solve this issue. The only other solution is to give
the client an FTP program, and one of the entire points of using Contribute is
to provide an easy way for the client to maintain the site while keeping the
files safe. FTP will have to give him access to everything. Thanks, Suzanne

Re: Contribute renaming files on its own
Hi All
Two different issues here (but maybe linked). CT has always (unfortunately)
added _000, _001 and so on to new versions od documents such as PDF, XLS, DOC
etc, which is apparently a version control thing .
But for CT to do the same to an htm page is not intended.
