    Default Contribute vs. CPS?

    Hi,

I'm old to webmastering but new to Contribute and CPS. AFAIK, with C3 I could
allow "non-techie" end users to edit certain parts of a website, without caring
about them possible breaking the underlying code. But where's the border
between what can be done without CPS, for what kind of situations is that
further needed? I'd like to stay out of server side stuff, as long as possible.
But I'd like to see user-specific access rights (what pages), for example.

    Regards,

    Default Re: Contribute vs. CPS?

You will want to use CPS to administer a number of users with different role
settings for different web sites (say.. a big organization like a school) - you
can integrate CPS so that it uses your Active Directory / LDAP server to
authenticate which user has access to which website.

You don't need CPS if you have a small number of users accessing a website
(example: 5-20 users with common roles and settings for 1-5 websites)
