Contributedownload for MAC
i've downloaded a trila version of contribute 3.1 for MAC. I meet the system
requirements, but the file that downloads is a cfm file which opens in Excel.
I use contribute on a pc at work and didn't incur this problem.

Re: Contributedownload for MAC
i can't confirm it right now, maybe someone else will pipe in-
but i think contribute for mac is a .dmg osX disc image file?
try renaming the .cfm download to .dmg then clicking it to see if the disk
image will mount.

thanks, it worked. I never thought of that. Instead I had tried renaming it to .sit or.zip, both without luck.

Re: Contributedownload for MAC
I've run into quite a few download manager scripts that wind up giving the
downloaded file the filename of the script, not the actual file's
filename...
sometimes it is a guessing game- MM could save the guessing if they'd write
out the filenames and filesizes right on the dl page.

Re: Contributedownload for MAC
You need to download the Macintosh installer using Safari or Netscape. My bet
is you're using Internet Explorer. I had the exact same problem. But when I
downloaded the installer from macromedia.com using Safari, the file type
downloaded (.dmg) was correct and worked.
