Convert 4/c image to single Pantone color

    Default Convert 4/c image to single Pantone color

    Could someone tell me how to convert a 4 color image to a single Pantone color ?

    Basically just change it to a Grayscale and copy/paste that into a spot color channel in a new CMYK file and then SaveAs a .psd; a Photoshop PDF or a DCS2 (depending on how you will be using the file).

    Image>Mode>Grayscale

    Then the mode "Duotone" will be available, so go to:

    Image>Mode>Duotone

    In the dropdown called "Type" (of image) at the top of the dialog, instead of Duotone, choose Monotone.

    Pick the Pantone color you want ... then play with the curve to get the density you'd like.

    Save as an .eps file.
