    Default Convert text to Paths

I am printing to an Epson 2200. When I convert text to paths, the letter forms
do not print as they should. I get odd thick and thins as if there is a stroke
on some letters. any clue how to avoid this? Or why it is happening? PostScript
issues? In my old Freehand, I converted text to paths with great success.
