Default convert to profile

I have a problem when I convert to profile in Acrobat 7 pro. That is that if I have a picture in Acrobat with a white background and convert to profile then the background is no longer white it has some % of cyan, magenta and yellow.
The picture can be a photo or a illustration eg. from FrameMaker it dosenītī matter.
Why?

Default Re: convert to profile

Hi Lars

Looks like Acrobat is using the "absolute colorimetric" rendering intent. Are you sure the background is pure white?

In my opinion the color conversion tool of Acrobat is not very good, since it is very hard to control the color conversion process. Meaning you can't chose of use/not use the source profile, differentiate between object types (images, vectors, text), select the desired rendering intent, ...

If you are not lucky with this tool, please try pdfColorConvert from callas software. You will find a demo version in the download area of www.callassoftware.com
