Default Converting a doc's Spot Gradients to CMYK

    Hello

I have a large, very complex illustrator document which contains several hundred gradients almost all of which contain spot colors. Is there a way for me to convert all the spot colors in a document (including gradients) to their CMYK counterparts?

A solution that just converts the gradients alone would also be helpful.

    thanks in advance,

You can run this action on the selected gradients. <http://share.studio.adobe.com/axAssetDetailSubmit.asp?aID=8316&back=http%3A%2F%2 Fshare%2Estudio%2Eadobe%2Ecom%2FaxBrowseSubmit%2Ea sp%3Fc%3D105>

Note: the action achieves this via the flattener and will cause the elements to become open paths. Strokes also will be converted to paths.

Not to take anything away from your action, John. I'm sure you have the right answer.

Wouldn't it work to double click the spot colors in the color pallet and choosing cmyk in the drop down list?

    Dee

    I focused in on this:

A solution that just converts the gradients alone would also be helpful.

The action allows the conversion of only the gradients selected and will leave other non-selected elements intacted. The action is intened for changing specific elements only.

    But, seeing this now:

Is there a way for me to convert all the spot colors in a document (including
    gradients) to their CMYK counterparts?

Changing the swatch palette spot swatches to process swatches would be the solution for this request.

It all depends on what spdorsey is really after.

Thanks Dee for pointing the other option out. :)

No, thank you for pointing out the "only gradient option"! This will help me as well.
