converting from Quark
I've got lots of documents (of between 20 and 100 pages) that were created in Quark 4.1. Each page of each document contains 2 or 3 tables, which were created using the TableWorks XTension.
I'm desperate to turn these documents in InDesign documents. But because I can't open them up in InDesign. I assume this is because of the Table XTension.
Recreating the documents from stratch will take me weeks. Can anyone suggest anything that might save me some time? For example, how I might be able to get the text out of the quark tables, without having to copy and paste every single row individually?
Many thanks.

Re: converting from Quark
Yes, it is because of the extension, so try to copy and paste the entire
table out of Quark, maybe you have luck and it is tab-delimited, or maybe
this extension (I don't know it) can convert his own tables back to text. Or
as a last chance I would try to fetch the table out of a PDF in Acrobat, its
text tool can also copy&paste table-like data - not fine, but better than
nothing.

Re: converting from Quark
Thanks for replying. Copying and pasting the entire table doesn't work.
I think I might have to go down the route of converting the Quark document to a PDF and then selecting the text that way.
Thanks.

Re: converting from Quark
Unfortunately, Quark isn't extraordinarily intelligent in the way it creates PDF so I doubt that you'll have much luck with that.
Does your Table XTension give you any option for saving/exporting from the table as tab- or comma-delimited text. If you had that option, you could (somewhat painfully) reimport it into InDesign tables.

Re: converting from Quark
Unfortunately the Table2000 xtension allows me to import from a tab/comma-delimited file but not export. It's so rubbish!
