Converting InDesign 2.0 document to Quark
We are collaborating with another organization to produce a bound publication--we created the file and they will print it. We produced the document in InDesign 2.0 and they use Quark. They said they will not accept pdf and that all files they receive must be Quark.
Is there any way to convert the InDesign document to Quark??
Thanks in advance.

Re: Converting InDesign 2.0 document to Quark
There is a Markzware XTension but it has more limitations than features.
There's no way your ID document will convert properly.
If they won't accept PDF they're bunch of jerks (IMO, of course). If all
they're doing is the printing, you might want to look around to find
someone else.

BTW, one of the limitations is that it's Mac only.

Unfortunately, no. To put it bluntly, your collaborators are idiots. Ask them for specific reasons why they can't use PDFs.
This isn't anything that you've done wrong. It's purely and squarely on their shoulders. The publishing world no longer revolves around Quark.

Re: Converting InDesign 2.0 document to Quark
Thanks to both of you for your input. Should it be relatively simple for them to convert the pdf file? She mentioned something about saving each page of the document separately but that seems like overkill to me.

Re: Converting InDesign 2.0 document to Quark
Karen,
It sould be simple for them to handle with. There is not need to "convert"> Should it be relatively simple for them to convert the pdf file?
but to bring it to film or plate. Therefore printers have
imposition-software or place the PDF in Quark to printout (worse, but many
people still do...)
but that seems like overkill to me.> She mentioned something about saving each page of the document separately
Though they should be able to import/impose from PDF with multiple pages, it
it possible to export to PDF single pages from InDesign on the fly. Press
<ctrl>+<e>, choose name of PDF-file (with page-number recommended), choose
page to export. Repeat for each page - that's it.
