Copy and Paste Between Photoshop 7.0.1 and Illustrator 10.0.3

Hey:

One of our users here has been using Photoshop and Illustrator since forever and has been able to copy and paste things (via the clipboard) on his PC between each application. However - this has mysteriously stopped working. I can confirm that nothing has happened to his machine as he does not have Administrative or Power User rights on the machine (Windows XP Pro + SP1a and all other MS hotfixes).

I have tried doing complete uninstalls of both, rebooting and reinstalling each then rebooting and trying again, but this does not seem to work.

He can however copy objects to the clipboard and paste them into say MS Word, just not between PS and Illustrator as he has been able to do.

Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Has he tried cutting/pasting from/to several different documents?

Is he using the same color space in both documents?
