Copy & Paste Problems

I have been using Fireworks now for around 6 months and i feel very confortable using it and usually am able to overcome most problems i come across, however since yesterday i have been having problems with my problems, for some reason i cannot paste graphics into fireworks from any outside source at all.
I can copy graphics from fireworks and paste them back into fireworks and other applications, i can copy graphics from the web and paste them into other applications but NOT fireworks which is slightly annoying as fireworks is the main progam i use most of the time. I have tried everything i can think of i cant even paste screen grabs or text, nothing can be pasted from an outside source, i can open files and import graphics from saved files but not paste them.
I woukd be very grateful to anyone who can help me as i am coming up to my final year in high school and need to get this problem sorted ASAP as i need to have some coursework completed by the 3rd of september that i was planning to do solely in Fireworks. thanks in advance, Shaun, UK

Try this:

go to Edit > keyboad shortcuts then select fireworks

tried that and nothing i usually use the Cntrl+C Cntrl+V, but since this problem developed i have been using the Edit>Paste to make doubley sure it wasnt a keyboard problem, I am using XP Pro SP1, just noticed when i do a screen grab and go to New within fireworks the window were you choose canvas sizes etc.. doesnt update values automatically, if you know what i mean:s

Tryed all that and still nothing, it was in [username]\Application Data\Marcromedia\Fireworks, it is a wierd problem i went through all the threads on here before i posted and i didnt see no one with a remotley similair problem

My bad, yeah Application Data should be inlcuded glad you saw it. At any
rate, I am sorry you still have issues with that.

Perhaps, you could try reinstalling, as well..

anyone got anymore ideas?

i see re-installing the progam as a last option, but if there are no other solutions then i will have to i suppose :'(
