Copying and pasting text from INCS2 to webpage creates corrupt characters
We use InDesign CS2 to publish a newspaper. When we are done with the print edition InDesign file, we copy the stories, and then paste them into our web system. When I look at the stories on our website, various characteres appear corrupted such as the "ae" character. I don't know how to solve this problem. It might have to do with fonts, characters sets, or something else.
Is there something that can/should be done to my InDesign document before I begin to copy and paste to the web so that I create web-friendly characters?
Please help!
Thank you,
Jon

Re: Copying and pasting text from INCS2 toweb page creates corrupt characters
On the webpage, check which doctype the coding on the webpage has, is it html or xhtml? You might need to change doctype declaration to html if it is xhtml. And which webeditor do you use to create the webpages? You might have to go into the source of the webpage to change the coding for those specific characers to propeer html entities.

Kathryn, with corrupted he means that the character becomes something else when pasted into the webpage than it was in the ID document.
